Laurie Hernandez is a celebrated American gymnast who has won a number of medals for her country. She developed the love for the sport when she was very young and competed in the U.S. Classic in 2012. Since then, she has participated and excelled in a number of competitions such as Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships, and the Olympics Games.
Her popularity has earned her the opportunity to appear on several television shows which include “Dancing with the Stars”, “American Ninja Warrior Junior”, and “Sesame Street”.
In 2017, Hernandez published her book titled “I Got This: To Gold and Beyond” which put her name on the list of New York Times Best Selling Author.
Family
She’s one of the daughters of Anthony and Wanda Hernandez. Her siblings include Jelysa, and Marcus.
Achievements
She has won lots of medals throughout her successful career. In 2016, she won gold and silver medals at the Olympic Games which was held in Rio, Brazil. That same year, she won gold at the Pacific Rim Championships, and the City of Jesolo Trophy competition.
