In 1974, he was drafted as a first-round pick by the Detroit Tigers. He debuted his pro baseball career that year at Bristol in the rookie-level Appalachian League as a third baseman and outfielder. In 1992, he joined the Seattle Mariners as a free agent and made 69 appearances for the team. In 2006, he played a managerial role at Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League.
