Best known for his insightful and straightforward analysis of college football games, Kirk Herbstreit is an award-winning sports analyst. He was also the quarterback for the Ohio State football team in his college years.
Early Football Career
Herbstreit attended Centerville High School in Ohio, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He later attended Ohio State University, where he studied business administration, and also became a four-year letterman with the school’s football team. When he was a senior, he was appointed team captain and starter. During his college football career, Herbstreit set the record for the most pass completion, and it took 14 years for the record to be broken.
Broadcast Career
In 1995, he joined the sports network ESPN as a college football sideline analyst. He also wrote a weekly column with “The Sporting News.” He was immediately noticed for his talent at ESPN and has built a successful career in sports commentary and analysis for over 20 years.

Personal Life
