About Kim Deal
Kim Deal’s road to stardom began in 1986 when she was given the opportunity to perform as the co-vocalist and bassist in the band called Pixies. During her time with the group, she was referred to as Mrs. John Murphy. She helped the group to record a number of albums with some entitled “Surfer Rosa” and “Come on Pilgrim”.
In 1989, she formed a rock band named ‘The Breeders’ after her previous group decided to go on a long break. Her role in the new group helped them to record many albums such as “Pod” and “Head to Toe”. She has also performed in the music group The Amps which she formed in 1995.
Solo career
In 2012, Deal began performing as a solo entertainer. She released lots of singles between 2013 and 2014 with the most popular one titled "Walking with a Killer".
Family
Growing up, she performed alongside her twin sister Kelley Deal. Between 1983 and 1988, she was married to John Murphy.
Education
Ohio State University is one of the seven colleges she attended. She was later trained at Kettering College of Medical Arts.
Trivia
Before her career in music, she worked as a lab technician.
During her time with The Amps, she was known as Tammy Ampersand.
