Personal Life
Kim LaShaunda Coles was the name she was given when she was born. She was a very reserved and smart student but when she got into Brooklyn Technical High School, she decided to share her comic side with the people around her.
In 1985, she and Aton Edwards got married and stayed together for a decade before the marriage ended. She then went on to marry Reggie Mckiver who initially was a SWAT officer. That marriage was in 2015 and lasted for about four years.
Career
Her interest in acting came to fruition when she got cast in “In Living Color” in 1990. The following year, she played the role of Millicent in “Strictly Business”. Two years later, she was in “Martin” then “Living Single” for which she gained the most popularity. Other shows the actress has been part of are “Love Is Not Enough”, “Kids in America”, and “My Wife and Kids”.
Trivia
Her father is known to have been the first dean of color at the Pratt Institute.
