Watching the performance of a play was all that then-student of the University of Saskatchewan, Kim Coates needed as an inspiration to be an actor. More than three decades later, he has become a household name through his film and television appearances such as Steve Serrano in “King of Sorrow”, Ronnie Hortense in “Goon”, and Tig Trager in “Sons of Anarchy”.
Personal Life
He was born to Joyce and Frederick Coates. He has been married to Diana Chappell since 1984. They have two children named Brenna and Kyla. He acquired citizenship of the United States in 2010.
Achievements
In 2019, he received a ‘Canadian Screen Award’ for his performance in “Bad Blood”.

He has been a supporter of the One Heart Source, a humanitarian organization whose main focus is to eradicate poverty and disease.
