About Kevin Kurányi
A product of the VfB Stuttgart youth setup, Kevin Kurányi established himself as one of the most prolific German goal scorers in the 2000s. He made his professional debut in 2001 as a player of the aforementioned club. He was a member of the team when they won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2002.
The Brazilian-born German soccer star shot to stardom in 2005 after he joined Schalke 04 in his native country. Later that year, he helped the team to win the DFL-Ligapokal. The striker starred for 1899 Hoffenheim, and Dynamo Moscow before announcing his retirement in 2017.
International Career
Before making his senior team debut, Kurányi played for Germany’s U20 and U21 sides. He appeared for the men’s team for the first time in 2003 and went on to star in tournaments like the UEFA Euro, and the FIFA Confederations Cup.
Personal Life
He married his Croatian wife Viktorija Peličić in 2007. The couple has two kids named Karlo and Vivien Carmen.
Achievements
He was included in kicker magazine’s “Bundesliga Team of the Season” after the 2006/07 and 2009/10 soccer seasons.
Trivia
He has Hungarian and Panamanian ancestry.
