About Kerry Packer
Though he was born into a wealthy family, Kerry Packer further established himself as one of the prominent business executives in Australia. As a descendant of the famous Packer family, he was a shareholder of Publishing and Broadcasting Limited, operators of Australian Consolidated Press, and Nine television network.
On the international stage, he was famously known for organizing the World Series Cricket competition which took place between 1977 and 1979.
Legal issues
Packer sometimes found himself at the wrong side of the law. In 1984, he was accused of evading taxes and engaging in other crimes such as drug trafficking. He denied all allegations and was found not guilty after the charges were dismissed in 1987.
Family
His father Sir Frank Packer was the founder of the Australian Consolidated Press. His mother was called Gretel Bullmore, and grew up with a brother called Clyde Packer.
He was married to a lady known as Roslyn Weedon, and together they raised two kids: Gretel Lees Packer, and James Douglas Packer.
Education
Parker attended a number of schools including Canberra Grammar School, Cranbrook School, and Geelong Grammar School.

According to Business Review Weekly, the celebrated businessman was worth around A$6.5 billion in 2004.
