About Ken Kesey
Ken Kesey was a celebrated American novelist and essayist best remembered for his 1962 novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, which was later adapted into a 1975 Academy Award-winning film of the same name. His other popular famous novels include 1964's Sometimes a Great Notion and 1992's Sailor Song.
Personal Life
He was married to Norma Faye Haxby from 1956 until his death in 2001. The marriage produced three children. He also fathered another child with Carolyn Garcia (also known as “Mountain Girl”) while he was still married to Norma.
Trivia
His famous novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest made it into Time's list of the "100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005"
After being arrested in 1965 for the possession of marijuana, he faked suicide in order to escape justice and fled to Mexico. He came back to the United States some eight months later and was arrested and jailed for five months.
In 1984, his 20-year-old son named Jed died tragically few days after being involved in a car accident.
