About Ken Griffey Jr.
George Kenneth Griffey Jr has made a name for himself as one of the Major League Baseball’s all-time leaders in hitting home runs. The retired outfielder spent 22 years (1989 - 2010) in the league after a two-season stint in the minor league.
He played for the Seattle Mariners (which chose him in the amateur draft in 1987) for 13 years, the Cincinnati Reds for 9 years and the Chicago White Sox for less than a season.
Family Life
He is the son of Ken Griffey Sr., a former Cincinnati Reds player who won the World Series in 1975 and 1976 with the team. He has three children with his wife, Melissa. Their names are Ken Giffrey III, Taryn Kennedy and Tevin Kendall.
Achievements
He became a National Baseball Hall of Famer in 2016. During his time in the MLB, he played in 13 All-Star games, won the Gold Glove Award 10 times and the Silver Slugger Award 7 times.
