About Ken Bruce
Ken Bruce is one of the earliest people to work at BBC Radio Scotland. Between 1980 and 1982, he hosted a number of programs on BBC Radio 2 Ballroom. The Scottish broadcaster became a national icon in 1986 when he was made the presenter of BBC Radio 2’s weekday mid-morning program. He was the face of the show until 1990 when he was assigned to other late programs.
He’s also known for his music quiz show titled “PopMaster”, which started in 1998. Aside from his shows, he’s also known for his appearances on other radio and television programs such as “Friday Night is Music Night” on BBC Radio, “Countdown” on Channel 4, and BBC Two’s “Ready, Steady, Cook”.
Family
Since 2000, he has been married to Kerith Bruce. Prior to that, he was married to Anne Bruce, but their union ended in 1995. He has six kids from his two marriages.
Education
He attended Hutchesons' Boys' Grammar School.
Trivia
Before starting his broadcasting career, he worked as a car washer.
He started his career at the Hospital Broadcasting Service located in Glasgow.
