Kelvin Hayden, born Kelvin Darnell Hayden Jr., is a former American professional footballer. He was a solid football cornerback, achieving various successes in the NFL between 2005 and 2014.
Background & Education
Hayden is an alumnus of Hubbard High School and one of the greatest ever football players. He also enrolled at Joliet Junior College for two years before transferring to Illinois University, where he graduated. During his sophomore year at Joliet, he won the "Conference Player of the Year" and the "NJCAA National Offensive Player of the Year."
Professional Career Highlights
In 2005, "Indianapolis Colts" selected him during the NFL Draft, and he played for them until 2010. In his second year, he won the "Super Bowl XLI" with the Colts. In addition, he also made his first NFL interception during the "Super Bowl XLI" game.
He joined the "Atlanta Falcons" in 2011. However, in 2012, the "Chicago Bears" signed him on a one-year deal of $825,000. Unfortunately, his spell with the Bears was marred with multiple injuries, causing them to release him as a free agent in September 2014.
His Personal Life
In May 2018, he got engaged to the famous Hollywood actress Taraji P. Henson. Unfortunately, their relationship ended in 2020.
