About Keira Walsh
Keira Walsh made her senior debut in the English women’s football senior team in 2017. She has played a key role in her professional football career, including helping her team win the 2022 UEFA Women’s Euro tournament held on their home turf, where she was selected as Player of the Match in the final game which saw England edge out arch rivals Germany in extra time.
Early Life
Walsh grew up in Rochdale and played for her local team the Pearson Juniors. She later played for English football clubs Blackburn Rovers and later Manchester City.
Club Career
She made her senior club debut with Manchester City when she came on as a substitute, and eventually helped her team win the 2014 Continental Cup. Walsh scored her first goal in 2016. She renewed her contract with City in 2020.
International Career
The midfielder has appeared in England’s U-15, U-17, U-19, U-23, and the senior national football teams. During the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship, she helped England finish fourth in the tournament. In 2019. She also helped the senior team win the SheBelieves Cup before getting called into England’s World Cup team in 2019. She also represented England at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
Honors
With Manchester City, Walsh won the FA Women’s League Cup in 2014, 2016, 2016, 2018/2019, and 2021/2022.
She also won the Arnold Clark Cup in 2022, as well as the UEFA Women’s Championship in July of 2022.
