Katherine Jackson came into the limelight in the mid-1970s as the matriarch of the famous Jackson family of entertainers. She was largely unknown when her older children performed in the early years of the pop group, The Jackson Five but she started gaining attention years later when she joined the management team of the group.
Family Life
She was married to Joe Jackson, the patriarch of the Jackson family from 1949 until his death in 2018. However, they had been separated for decades prior to his death. They had ten children together including the King of Pop, Michael Jackson and singer-songwriter Janet Jackson. When Michael Jackson died in 2009, she was awarded guardianship of his children.
