About Karsten Warholm
Karsten Warholm is a Norwegian track athlete who specializes in the sprints and hurdles events. He first shone at the national level through his participation in the Norwegian Youth Indoors Championships, during which he picked up eight gold medals.
Internationally, he has risen to fame for his successes in the men’s 400 m events and the 400 m hurdles events. He broke the world record for the 400 m hurdles twice in 2021 within one month of each other (July 2021 and August 2021).
Family Life
He grew up in Ulsteinvik, Norway. He has been dating a fellow Norwegian named Oda Djupvik.
Achievements
He won a gold medal in the men’s 400 m hurdles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2017 London and 2019 Doha World Championships, as well as, the 2018 Berlin European Championship.
Trivia
Unlike his competitors, he did not run in the 2020 Olympics with “super spikes” running shoes.
