About Julieta Venegas
Julieta Venegas is a songwriter, producer, instrumentalist and singer who hails from the United States of America. The genre of music she writes and sings include Pop rock, indie pop and folk-rock. When Venegas was eight years old, the piano was the first instrument she started playing before playing the others. Due to her early exposure to music, she developed an immense passion for it.
Venegas released her first album in 1997 titled “Aqui”. Other notable albums of hers include “Bueninvento” in 2000, “Limón y Sal” in 2006, “Otra Cosa” in 2010, “Los Momentos” in 2013 and “La Enamorada” in 2019.
Family
Julieta Venegas Percevault is the offspring of José Luis Venegas and Julia Edith Percevault. She has a sibling named Yvonne Venegas. In 1998, she tied the knot with Álvaro Henríquez but divorced him after two years. She had a daughter called Simona.
Awards
In 2004, she won the Latin Grammy Award for “Best Rock Solo Vocal Album”. In 2006, she was the recipient of the said award for “Best Alternative Music Album”. The following year, she received a Grammy Award for “Best Latin Pop Album”. Also, Venegas won the 2008 Latin Grammy Award for “Best Alternative Music Album” and “Best Long Form Music Video”. She was also the winner of the same award for “Best Short Form Music Video” and “Best Pop/Rock Album” in 2010 and 2016 respectively.
Additionally, she won the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America for “Best Solo Artist “, “Best Artist (Mexico)” and “Artist of the Year” in 2004. That same year, Venegas received the Premios Oye! for “Best Song of The Year”, “Album of The Year” and “Rock in Spanish”.
