About Julian Fellowes
Julian Fellowes is an English actor, filmmaker and novelist famous for writing the screenplay for the 2001 mystery film Gosford Park, for which he won an Academy Award. He is also known for creating writing and producing the historical period drama TV series Downton Abbey. In 2004, he published his best-selling debut novel titled Snobs.
Family Life
He is the son of Olwen Mary and Peregrine Edward Launcelot Fellowes. He grew up with three older brothers, including Roderick Olivier who became a playwright. He married a woman named Emma Kitchener in 1990 and fathered one child with her.
Trivia
He auditioned to play the character Master of Lake-town in The Hobbit film series but was unsuccessful. The character was eventually played by English actor and comedian Stephen Fry.
