About Judy Collins
Judy Collins is a Grammy Award-winning American singer-songwriter and social activist who was propelled to international stardom with her cover of the Joni Mitchell song Both Sides, Nowfrom her album Wildflowers which was released in 1967. She went on to gain further prominence with her 1975 critically acclaimed and commercially successful album Judith. The album produced one of her most successful singles, her cover of Stephen Sondheim's Send in the Clowns.
Personal Life
She was married to Peter Taylor from 1958 to 1965. The marriage produced her son Clark. Her second marriage was to designer Louis Nelson in 1996.
Trivia
She suffered from polio when she was a child.
Her addiction to alcohol forced her to enter a rehabilitation program in the late 1970s.
In 1992, she received the shock of her life when her only child, Clark, committed suicide.
