About José Guadalupe Posada
José Guadalupe Posada was a top Mexican illustrator who used bones, skulls, and calaveras to create satiric paintings. Most of his works addressed social and political happenings. During the unpopular Mexican Revolution, his works were heavily featured in the press, most notably the El Jicote magazine. His most popular work is perhaps the 1910 broadsheet titled “La Calavera Catrina”.
