About Jonathan Quick
Jonathan Quick, in full Jonathan Douglas Quick, is an American professional ice hockey player and is widely known for his prominence as one of the best goaltenders in the National Hockey League's (NHL) history.
Background & Early Career
The hockey star was born in Milford, Connecticut, USA. As a teenager, he played for the New York Rangers during the 2000 "Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament."
He played briefly at Hamden High School and then transferred to Avon Old Farms, leading them to two consecutive "New England Prep Championships."
Quick attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and played college hockey. He also led them to its first-ever "NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship."
Professional Career
During the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, the Los Angeles Kings selected him as the 72nd overall pick in the third round. As of 2021, he had played 13 NHL seasons with Los Angeles and three seasons in the AHL and ECHL with Reading Royals and Manchester Monarchs.
He won the 2012 and 2014 Stanley Cup championships with the Los Angeles Kings. In addition, he has received several "Vezina Trophy" nominations and is an honorary member of the "William M. Jennings Trophy" and the "Conn Smythe Trophy."
In 2010, he won silver with Team USA at the Winter Olympics.
