Jon Voight is an American actor who emerged into the public spotlight when cast as Joe Buck in the 1969 film Midnight Cowboy for which he won numerous awards including a BAFTA and Golden Globe Award. He gained more prominence starring in films such Deliverance, Coming Home, The Champ and The Rainmaker.
Personal Life
He was married to Lauri Peters from 1962 to 1967. His second marriage was to actress Marcheline Bertrand from 1971 to 1980. The marriage produced two children: James Haven and Angelina Jolie.
Awards
For his performance in the 1978 film Coming Home, he won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
