About John Suchet
In 1967, John Suchet joined Reuters News Agency as one of their graduate trainees. This marked the beginning of his journalism career. In 1972, he started working at ITN after a short time at BBC TV News. He was the host of ITN's coverage of the infamous Gulf War in 1991.
He left the media organization in 2004 and later joined Channel 5 News where he was named the host of the news program “Five News”. He’s also known for his time with Classic FM which he joined in 2010.
Family
His father Jack Suchet was a popular gynaecologist. His mother was called Joan Patricia Jarché and has a brother named David Suchet who’s known to be an actor. This celebrity has been married to a lady called Nula Black. His eldest son, Rory Suchet is also known to be a television personality.
Education
After Uppingham School, Suchet joined Queen's College which was then part of the University of Dundee.
Honors
In 1986, the Royal Television Society honored him with their “TV Journalist of the Year” award. The organization later gave him the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.
Trivia
He covered the funeral of Princess Diana for ITN.
Most of his published books are about the works of Ludwig van Beethoven, a renowned German composer.
