John Roberts

About John Roberts

John Roberts is known for being the 17th Chief Justice of the United States. He was nominated for the position by President George W. Bush after the passing of Chief Justice William Rehnquist. He assumed office on September 29, 2005.

Career

After graduating from Harvard Law School, he worked as a law clerk and at the Attorney General's office under President Reagan's administration. He also worked in the Department of Justice during the George H.W. Bush Administration. He was appointed judge of the D.C. Circuit by President George W. Bush in 2003.

Family Life

He is the son of Rosemary and John Glover Roberts Sr. In 1996, he married Jane Sullivan and fathered two children with her.
