About John Lynch
John Lynch abandoned his baseball career to join the National Football League in 1993. He joined the league as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was usually used at the safety position. Lynch spent ten years with the Buccaneers and won the Super Bowl in 2003.
Before announcing his retirement in 2008, he played for some popular NFL teams like the New England Patriots, and the Denver Broncos.
Post retirement
Lynch started working as a broadcaster right after ending his playing career. He’s best known for his time on Fox Sports’ “NFL on Fox”. He left his post in 2017 to work with the San Francisco 49ers as their general manager.
Family
He’s the son of renowned radio executive John Lynch. He has been married to Linda Allred whose brother John Allred played in the NFL.
Education
Lynch participated in many sporting activities during his time at Torrey Pines High School.
Achievements
He was selected into the All-Pro team on two different occasions. He has also been inducted into the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame, and has received the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Ring of Honor.
Trivia
As a baseball player, he was drafted into the MLB by the Florida Marlins in 1992.
In addition to baseball and football, he also played basketball during his time in college.
