About John Louis
John Louis performed in the motocross event before deciding to test his strength on the speedway in 1969. The following year, he competed in his first race as a member of the Ipswich Witches club. In 1971, he became the British League Division Two Riders Champion. He also led Ipswich to win the 1975 and 1976 British Championship.
In 1972, he helped the Great Britain team to win the World Team Cup competition. He again won the competition in 1974 and 75 with England. Before drawing the curtains down on his career in 1984, he represented many clubs such as the West Ham Hammers, Wembley Lions, and King's Lynn Stars.
Private Life
His son, Chris Louis, followed in his footsteps and won many national competitions.
Trivia
He was a teammate to Malcolm Simmons and Peter Collins during his time in the English team.
After his son won the British Championship, they became the first father-and-son to achieve that feat.
