Early Life and Education
The right-handed pitcher was born to Sharon and Derran Lackey. He attended the Abilene High School, where he continued to play baseball and became a 2-time first Team All-District Honoree. Lackey graduated from the University of Texas. He was a first base player and relief pitcher during his stay.
Career
The baseball player began his career in the Minor League when the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim drafted him in the 1999 Major League Baseball draft as the 68th overall pick. He played for them until 2009 and also won the All-Star Award 2007. He joined the Boston Red Sox fin 2010 but left for the St. Louis Cardinal and stayed from 2014 to 2015. He finally joined the Chicago Cubs in 2016 until he retired from professional baseball in 2017.
Personal Life
The baseball star first married Krista Clark from 2008 to 2012 but divorced and remarried Kristina Carter in 2014.
