John Kerry is an American politician known as the 68th United States Secretary of State. He served as the United States Senator from Massachusetts from 1985 to 2013 and the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2009 to 2013. During the 2004 United States presidential election, he contested for the office of the President but lost to George W. Bush.
Family Life
He is the second of the four children born to Richard John Kerry and Rosemary Isabel Forbes. He was married to Julia Thorne from 1970 to 1988. The marriage produced two daughters, Alexandra and Vanessa. His second marriage was in 1995 to Teresa Heinz.
Trivia
In 2015, he broke his leg in a biking accident in France.
