About Joe Gibbs
Joe is an American who coached football teams before diverting into auto racing.
Personal Life
When he was born, he was given the name Joe Jackson Gibbs. He is the son of Winnie Era Gibbs and Jackson Ceufud. He studied at Santa Fe High School then moved on to Cerritos Junior College. He then got his masters degree from San Diego State University. He got married to Patricia Escobar and together, they birthed two children. They are also known to have about eight grandchildren though they lost one of them to Leukemia. Later, one of his sons also passed away after struggling with brain disease.
Career
He started his coaching career with San Diego State as an offensive line coach. He continued that job with Florida State in 1967 but stayed for about a year only. From there, he moved to University of Southern California for about a year and then coached the St Louis Cardinals football team. He became an offensive coordinator for Tampa Bay Buccaneers then went ahead to work with San Diego Chargers. In 1992, he veered into car racing and started the Joe Gibbs racing team and his team members have been impressive in the world of racing.
