Joe Diffie was an American singer who entered the music scene circa 1990 and specialized in the country-music genre. He dropped several top songs during his lifetime, which went on to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs listing.
Family Life
He has been married four times and fathered six children between these marriages. His wives were, in succession, Janise Parker, Debbie Jones, Theresa Crump and Tara Terpening.
Achievements
The first single he ever released, “Home” (1990), scored a number one on the US and Canada’s top country music charts.
He took home the 1990 Cash Box award for Male Vocalist of the Year.
In 1993 the Academy of Country Music awarded his song “I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair” as Vocal Event of the Year.
He won a Grammy Award in 1998 for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for his participation on the track “Same Old Train”.
Death
He died a couple of days after being diagnosed with the coronavirus. He was memorialized by the likes of Tanya Tucker, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.
