Early Life
Carter was born to Athelene, and Joe Carter Sr. He enrolled in Wichita State University but dropped out during his junior year to follow his passion for baseball.
Career
Carter made his debut for the Chicago Cubs from 1983 to 1984 with a record of 121 runs and over 100 base hits. He later played for the Cleveland Indians from 1984 to 1989. From there, he went to San Diego Padres in 1990.
From 1991 to 1997, he played for the Toronto Blue Jays. In the last year of his playing career, he featured for the Baltimore Orioles and later the San Francisco Giants.
Personal Life
Carter married Diana Carter during his baseball years.
Awards
2003 saw Carter being inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
He is a 5-time All-Star (1991–1994, 1996).
He won the World Series championship twice (1992, 1993).
