About Joan Caulfield
Joan Caulfield was one of the leading actresses during the 1940s. Starting her career as a stage performer on Broadway, the American was signed by Paramount Pictures in 1943 which catapulted her rise to stardom.
Her role as Matilda Frazier in the 1947 film titled “The Unsuspected” placed her on the global stage. Throughout her career, which lasted for over four decades, Caulfield appeared in many films which include “Blue Skies” and “Red Tomahawk”.
Family
Her much publicized marriage to renowned filmmaker Frank Ross ended in 1960, ten years after their union was made official. Later that year, she married Robert Peterson, but they divorced in 1966.
She had two sons from her two marriages. They are called Caulfield Kevin Ross and John Caulfield Peterson. Genevieve Caulfield, a prominent American teacher, was her aunt.
Education
She studied at New Jersey’s Miss Beard's School before joining Columbia University.
Honors
In 1960, a star was placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in her honor.
