Jimmy Savile was an English DJ, TV and radio host. He is best known for being the presenter of the BBC music chart show "Top of the Pops".
His Highlights/Legacy
He was appointed Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 1972 and he was made a Knight Bachelor in 1990.
During his career, he managed to raise more than 40 million british pounds for charities.
His Personal Life
After his death, dozens allegations of sexual abuse were made against him. Scotland Yard described him as a predatory sex offender. In total, 450 people had made complaints against him and their ages were from 8 to 47 years old. Most of his victims were under 18, including 10 boys.
He died of pneumonia at the age of 84.
