About Jimi Hendrix
Jimi Hendrix was an iconic American rock guitarist and singer-songwriter considered one of the greatest guitarists in the history of popular music. He gained fame with the Jimi Hendrix Experience with hits such as Hey Joe, Purple Haze and The Wind Cries Mary. By the late 1960s, he was the world's highest paid performer. He died accidentally from barbiturate-related asphyxia at the age of 27.
Achievements
He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Music Hall of Fame as a member of the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1992 and 2005 respectively. Rolling Stone named him the greatest guitarist of all time.
