About Jim Courier
James Spencer Courier, better known as Jim Courier is an American retired professional tennis player. He transitioned from amateur to professional tennis in 1988, when he was barely 18 years old.
He became the ATP’s world number 1 tennis player on February 10, 1992 and in the following year, he made history as the youngest male player to reach the finals of all the four Grand Slam tournaments’ singles events. He retired in the year 2000.
Family Life
He grew up in Dade City, Florida. In 2010, he married Susanna Lingman.
Achievements
He emerged the winner of the 1992 and 1993 Australian Open tournaments and the 1991 and 1992 French Open events. He was also a Davis Cup winner in 1992 and 1995.
Trivia
He became a television tennis commentator and analyst following his retirement.
