Jerry is an American actor and comedian famous for playing Rob Petrie in CBS’s television sitcom, the Dick Van Dyke Show. He’s also known for playing the character Luther Van Dam on the popular ABC sitcom, Coach.

He is the younger brother of actor Dick Van Dyke. His first marriage was to Carol Johnson, with whom he had three children, including Kelly Jean Van Dyke. His second marriage was to Shirley Ann Jones in 1977.
Trivia
He is a poker enthusiast, whose intense love for poker has seen him announce a number of poker tournaments for ESPN.
His daughter, Kelly Jean, who was an adult film performer, tragically committed suicide by hanging in 1991.
