Jelena Karleuša is a Serbian singer and media star who can trace her success back to her 1995 album, “Ogledalce”. Since then, Karleuša has established herself as arguably the most-influential female musician in her part of the world, having her influence compared to the type of pop media presence Madonna has in the United States.
Family Life
In 2008 she married a footballer by the name of Dusko Tosic. And together they birthed two daughters named Nika and Athena.
Achievements
Like Madonna, she is recognized as one of the most-visible advocates for LGBT rights in her region. Indeed she took home a GayEcho Award in 2010 in the category of Gay Icon.

Trivia
In 2019 a scandal erupted whereas she was accused of having an affair with another soccer player by the name of Ognjen Vranješ. This resulted in alleged nudes of her being leaked and going viral, as well as she launching a whole slew of lawsuits against the various media houses which published them. And at the end of the day it contributed to her personally topping Google records as the most-searched term from Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2019.
Karleuša is also recognized as an animal rights’ advocate and has even worked with PETA in that regard.
In the past she has used her media presence to criticize prominent Serbian politicians.
