About Jeff Lynne
Jeffrey Lynne was barely 16 years old when he formed his first band, the Andicaps. After performing with the band for a year, the English musician, singer, songwriter and record producer moved to another local band, The Chads.
He is known best for being a founding member of the rock band, Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), with which he performed from 1970 until their 1986 disbandment.
Family Life
He was raised in Shard End, Birmingham, by his parents Philip and Nancy Lynne. His first marriage, to Rosemary Adams, lasted for five years (1972 - 1977). He and his second wife, Sandi Kapelson tied the knot in 1979. They have two daughters together.
Achievements
In 2009, he was the ASCAP “Golden Note Award” recipient. In 2015, he was given a star on ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’. He was made an ‘Officer of the Order of the British Empire’ in 2020.
Facts
He has also played with other groups including ensembles such as The Move, The Idle Race, and The Traveling Wilburys.
