About Jay Kay
Jay Kay started music as a way to keep his focus after he almost died while engaged in petty crimes on the street.
In his early twenties, he founded the English funk and jazz band, Jamiroquai. The band enjoyed commercial success, especially in the 1990s and early 2000s with songs such as “Virtual Insanity”, “Deeper Underground” and “Little L”. He has been the band’s main singer and songwriter.
Family Life
He is the son of Karen Kay and Luis Saraiva. He was in a relationship with actress Denise van Outen from 1998 to 2001. He has two children with a woman named Maria, whom he has been married to.
Achievements
He has been honored with a Grammy Award, Ivor Novello Award and BMI London Award.
