Jay Carney is an American politician and journalist known for being the 29th White House Press Secretary, a position he held from 2011 until his resignation in 2014. Before becoming press secretary, he held a number of prominent positions, including the Deputy Chief of Time's Washington Bureau and the post of director of communications for Vice President Joe Biden.
Personal Life
In 2001, he got married to journalist Claire Shipman, with whom he fathered two children.
Trivia
During his years as a reporter, he was one of the few journalist who were privileged enough to be aboard Air Force One with President Bush on the day of the September 11 attacks.
According to him, he is a huge fan of the indie rock band Guided by Voices.
