About Javier Báez
Ednel Javier Báez is a renowned Puerto Rican baseball player. In 2014 he launched his Major League Baseball (MLB) career playing for the Chicago Cubs. Before he joined the MLB, he played in the minor league for the Arizona Cubs. He has also starred for his country’s national baseball team; he featured in the squad that represented Puerto Rico at the World Baseball Classic in 2017.
Family
He has siblings named Noely, Rolando and Gadiel; Noely passed in April of 2015. His late father was known as Ángel Luis Báez.
In January of 2019 he tied the knot with Irmarie Márquez. He is the father of a child called Adrián Javier Báez Márquez.
Accolades
In 2017 the player was included in the ‘All-World Baseball Classic Team’. He earned the ‘Silver Slugger Award’ in the following year. He received the ‘Gold Glove Award’ in 2020.
Education
Báez studied at Arlington Country Day School (ACD). His college baseball career was spent at Jacksonville University.
