Personal Life
Jasper’s father was John Standish Fforde and he worked at the Bank of England as a Chief Cashier. His father enrolled him in Dartington Hall School.
Career
He was interested in the world of make-believe since he was young and started working in the film industry as focus puller. Some of the movies he worked on are “The Mask of Zorro” and “The Trial”. He started putting together the novel “The Eyre Affair” which in 2001 became his first novel to get published. His next novel was “Lost in a Good Book” then in 2003, after working on “The Well of Lost Plots”, he had it published. Other novels he worked on are “One of our Thursdays is Missing”, “The Big Over Easy”, “The Last Dragonslayer” and “Something Rotten”.
Achievement
His work on “The Well of Lost Plots” earned him a Wodehouse prize in 2004.
Trivia
It is a known fact that when he was ready to publish his first novel, he had to go through more than seventy-five publishers who rejected him before he got a chance for his book to be published. He is also known to be very interested in aviation and had a chance to pilot a commonwealth Aircraft.
