Gajos made his professional acting debut in 1964 while in film school in the popular children's film "Panienka z okienka." Shortly afterward, he played the character of "Janek Kos" in the widely acclaimed World War II television series "Czterej pancerni i pies."
His notable theatrical plays and films include "Pigs," "Three Colors: White," "Escape from the 'Liberty' Cinema," and "The Revenge." In addition, he is notable for performing in the popular "Kabaret Olgi Lipińskiej." He is also a famous theatre actor, performing in numerous theatres, including Warsaw's National Theatre, the Polish Theatre, the Komedia Theatre, and the Stefan Jaracz Theatre.

The actor was honored with the "Golden Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis" in 2007.
