About Janet McTeer
Janet McTeer is a film and television actress from England. She made her first professional theater appearance in 1984. The following year, she made her TV series debut in “Juliet Bravo” as Esther Pearson.
In 1986, she made her first film appearance in the movie “Half Moon Street” where she was cast as Van Arkady's Secretary. The films McTeer has acted in include “Waking the Dead”, “The King Is Alive”, and “As You Like It”. She has also appeared in series such as “The Honourable Woman”, and “Sense and Sensibility”.

She was educated at Queen Anne Grammar School for Girls and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Her parents are Alan McTeer and Jean. She has a sibling named Helen McTeer. In 2010, she got married to Joseph Paul Coleman.

In 1996, she was the recipient of the Critics' Circle Theatre Award and Laurence Olivier Theatre Award. The next year, she won the Theatre World Award, the Drama Desk Award, and Tony Award for “Best Actress in a Play”. Also, in 1999, she received a Golden Globe Award for “Best Actress”. To add, McTeer was the 2005 Drama Desk Award winner for “Outstanding Actress in a Play”.
