History
Janet was blacklisted after her 2004 Super Bowl performance where she exposed her breast on live television. She blamed it on a wardrobe malfunction but CBS, MTV, Viacom, and national pop radio stations refused to play music from her subsequent albums resulting in a steep decline in record sales. The Super Bowl fiasco put a stand-still on her career as companies just didn’t want to associate with her.
