Former Swedish table tennis player Jan-Ove Waldner achieved over a dozen Swedish titles in his table tennis career.
His Highlights
He came into the limelight at the age of 16 in 1982, when he got to the final of the European Championships. In 1992, the former tennis player won gold in the men’s singles at the Summer Olympics held in Barcelona. Eight years later, he won silver at the Sydney Olympics.
Waldner, the “Mozart of table tennis” as he is referred to, played for TTC Rhon-Sprudel Fulda -Maberzell in the German Bundesliga. He has also played for Sparvagens BTK. His last game was in the Swedish first league for Angby/Sparvagen.
Waldner has been playing international elite level table tennis for more than thirty years.
