About James Farrior
James Alfred Farrior is a former American football linebacker who spent fifteen seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the New York Jets and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Between 2006 and 2009, Pittsburgh won two Super Bowls with Farrior as inside linebacker.
Early Life
He attended the University of Virginia, where he studied psychology. While at the university, he amassed 381 tackles, placing third on the school's all-time list.
Career
He debuted in the NFL as the eighth overall choice of the New York Jets (1997). After the 2001 season, the Jets let him go via free agency. He then joined the Pittsburgh Steelers. The NFL player had 82 tackles in 14 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers in his rookie season. He played for the Steelers in 2010’s Super Bowl XLV at the end of the 2010 season.
He was freed on March 2, 2012.
