JaMarcus Russell is a former American footballer who played college football for the LSU Tigers football team of the Louisiana State University before being drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the 2007 NFL Draft. He was released by the Raiders in 2010 after playing only three seasons with the team due to an unimpressive performance.

Trivia
In 2010, he was arrested at his home for illegally possessing codeine syrup and was subsequently arraigned before court, where he pled not guilty. He was left off the hook after the grand jury decided not to indict him on the charge of possessing codeine syrup without any prescription.
