Jake Austin Szymanski, known simply as Jake T. Austin, is a professional American actor, best noted for being the voice behind the character, Diego in Nickelodeon series, “Go, Diego, Go!”, and his acting role as Max Russo in “Wizards of Waverly Place”.
Family Life
His parents are Joe Szymanski and Giny Rodriquez Toranzo, owners of The Clarksville Inn restaurant. He grew up with a younger sister named Ava.
Achievements
He began his acting career at the age of seven, in a comedy sketch, starring as Kid 1698 on “The Late Show with David Letterman”.
His first major role was in 2004, playing the voice of Diego in Nickelodeon’s "Dora the Explorer" and "Go, Diego, Go!".
His first lead acting role was that of Angel Macias in the 2006 action film, "The Perfect Game".
He has received numerous nominations at the Young Artist awards, Teen Choice Awards and the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
In 2012, he received the Favorite Television Actor award at the Hollywood Teen TV Awards.
Trivia
He is dedicated to a variety of charitable causes, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Starlight Children's Foundation.
