In 1994, the French filmmaker wrote and directed “A Self-Made Hero”. The film, which starred Mathieu Kassovitz, Albert Dupontel and Sandrine Kiberlain, bagged a number of Cannes Film Festival and Cesar Awards and nominations, including in categories as best director and writing.
Audiard directed “The Beat That My Heart Skipped”, a French version of James Toback’s ”Fingers”. The film won BAFTA’s Best Non-English Film and a number of Cesar Award nominations, including in categories as best film and best directing.
