J. P. Morgan was an American business tycoon. He was involved with various industries including banking, steel, and electricity.

Career

Morgan is known as being one the businessmen that formed the foundations and principles of modern business. He was instrumental in the merger of 2 businesses that created a company now known as General Electric. When Morgan died he was worth the equivalent of a little over $2 billion dollars. Morgan’s art collection alone was worth $50 million dollars.

Trivia

Morgan actually had a suite on the Titanic reserved when the ship went down. He was actually having an affair with a woman and wasn’t on the ship, however, his servant was. It causes a major scandal in the disaster aftermath as he also owned the company that owned the Titanic. There are still conspiracy theories that he purposefully sunk the ship for insurance money.
